And then the planning began…
Carolina Black Book was founded by Katera Anderson and Karriema Calhoun. Katera was inspired by the increasing support for black-owned businesses, and she sought out to develop an avenue to make it easier to connect consumers with the great businesses right in her home state of South Carolina. Katera shared her vision with her friend, Karriema, and together, they co-founded Carolina Black Book.
Carolina Black Book is an online collective of black-owned businesses across South Carolina. The mission is to drive economic growth to black owned businesses throughout the state.
Carolina Black Book’s vision is to be the largest platform for black-owned businesses in the state, providing an innovative, organized, central location for promoting everything from food & beverage to e-commerce and professional services.
Katera Anderson
Co-Founder, CHIEF Creative OFFICER
Katera is a Recording Artist, Design Consultant and small business owner. She is a South Carolina native, raised in the Dixiana Community, just outside of Columbia, SC.
Karriema Calhoun
Co-Founder, CHIEF COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
Karriema is a Senior IT Process Analyst, Copywriter and small business owner. She is a native of South Carolina. She grew up in Calhoun Falls, SC and currently resides in Charleston.
